Travelling To 2018's Fashion Destinations

Updated: Dec 17, 2018

At Valencia, we know that there is nothing better than a holiday, so we've accumulated a few of our favourite places around the globe to rock your fashion favourites.

1. Austria

If you're in the mood for an active and dynamic holiday then Austria is the place for you. Ski the peaks all day long, feeling the beaming sun shine upon your skin and the wind caressing your body. Nothing screams active like ski apparel, but if you're more of a sit by the fire, watching your friends or family mount the heights with a cup of cocoa kind of person then finding an outfit can be difficult.

Try this:

In order to keep warm yet fashionable, we would recommend a statement coat and scarf set, with a solid black outfit underneath. You are sure to be avoiding any faux pas, when pairing a striking hat and casual trainers, this look is timeless and will look perfect when strolling the streets of Austria.

Hat: H&M £12.99

Coat: Oasis £69.99

Scarf: Next £16

Jeans: Topshop £36

Bag: Givenchy £750

Vans: £60

2. Chicago

As the third most populous city in the United States, Chicago is riddled with eccentricity and pulse, planning a knock-out outfit is essential. It can be hard to be found within the bustling streets of the city, so ensure that you're wearing the correct garments to stand-out and be heard whilst snacking on as many hot dogs and deep dish pizzas, because after all- you're on holiday.

Try this:

Depending on what time of year you go, Chicago can have highs of 30 degrees Celsius meaning an outfit suitable for heat is imperative, so why not sweat in style. A pair of distressed jeans are always a go-to, with a vibrant camisole tucked in and a pair of high tops, you are good to go.

Denim Jacket: New Look £30

Trainers: Comme des Garcons Converse £110

Sunglasses: Ray Bans £145

3. Paris

It wouldn't be right to create a post that didn't include the fashion capital that is Paris. Heaving with elegance and subtlety, Paris is the destination that is essential for couture and class. Whether you're wandering the street of The Avenue des Champs-Elysees or sat on the green of the Eiffel Tower, submerse yourself in history and sophistication with a head-turning outfit.

Try this:

Nothing yells class like a blazer, wearing your prints that get people talking has never been so iconic. We would also recommend keeping a colour theme throughout, in this case - red.

Jacket: Zara £64.99

Bodysuit: Missguided £10

Jeans: Kenzo £160

Trainers: Gucci £445

Belt: Dorothy Perkins £11

Bag: Vivienne Westwood £290

4. Dominican Republic

Laze on the white sand beaches as the sun kisses your salty skin. The Dominican Republic has kept itself under the radar, but we're exposing it in all its glory. We believe that "aquawear" is just as important as outerwear so a striking swimsuit is a given.

Try this:

Finding a colour to complement your skin tone is one of the toughest things about fashion, but once you've got it, finding outfits to suit your body will come naturally. It's necessary when finding swimwear to ensure that it is comfortable, colourful and complimentary, so don't be too disheartened if you can't find something straight away.

Swimsuits: Topshop £20

5. New York

A city thriving and striving for greater things and part of the 4 main fashion capitals in the world, a place so iconic it ruins in its veins and is utterly addictive. New York oozes life and has to be one of our most picturesque destinations on this list. New York is the epitome of fashion, so an eclectic outfit is vital.

Try this:

Walking through central park has never looked so stylish, we would recommend going for a big chunky knit tucked into some flattering mom jeans. If we teach you anything at Valencia, we want it to be that COORDINATION IS KEY. Match up your knit with your boots, or your belt with your bag for the best outfit configuration.

Jumper: Karen Millen £75

Jeans: Levis £80

Boots: Dorothy Perkins £25

Belt: Reiss £60

6. Kavos, Corfu

Take a scenic walk along the coast of Corfu, or take a dip in the deep blue as the sun shines serenely against your skin. The island is weaved with character and poise along the cobbled streets, with relaxation and tranquillity at it's heart. Casual yet effective outfits are the core of its culture and we want to help you make the right decisions.

Constructing an outfit fit for a hot holiday is hard, when you just want to unwind in a swimsuit and forget about fashion, its necessary to plan your outfits ahead of time so you don't fall behind on your style when you just can't be bothered. A simple motif crop and black denim is a match made in heaven, married with a funky hairstyle, you're all set.
